Amherst Supervisor Barry Weinstein is working to control the cost of Amherst government while Evans Supervisor Fran Pordum spends his time justifying “unopen meetings” and voting to hire new employees not included in his 2010 budget.
Lets take a look at the performance of these two town supervisors.
Weinstein spent 15 minutes giving a State of the Town Speech.
Pordum read from the Associations of Town Handbook to justify his vote to eliminate Privilege of the Floor during town board meetings.
Weinstein is requiring every town department to develop a reorganization plan.
Pordum voted to hire two new employees in the assessors office. Neither hire was in 2010 budget. (He could have terminated contract with North Collins that would allow Assessor Ebersole to spend 1 ½ days more in Evans and saved taxpayers a ton of money.)(Where’s the money coming from to pay these new employees??)

Weinstein talked about plans adopt new laws to redevelop older neighborhoods.
Pordum needed a crying towel while blaming Walmart for its decision not to come to Evans.
Weinstein had residents praising is speech.
Pordum makes residents pass through a metal detector only to learn that he has suspended the first amendment at his meetings! Residents leave meeting shaking their heads!
Weinstein works to help all residents by cutting costs
Pordum hires cronies no matter the costs to taxpayers.
No wonder so many residents are moving out of Evans.

We have recently started receiving the last few issues of the Hamburg Sun in the hope of keeping up with the Evans town news.
I have learned more in the last few minutes reading the REAL NEWS SITE.
SHAME ON ME FOR NOT VISITING THIS SITE DAILY!
Keep up the great work.
