Evans resident Bill Henry, a former Chairman of the Southtowns Energy Fair, is a renewable energy expert. 100% of his home’s electric is generated by solar. He works with state and county lawmakers on renewable energy legislation. When Henry advised the Evans Town Board that the proposed wind ordinance (passed) would be the most restrictive town law in NYS. Pordum responded that Henry had his opinion, he (Pordum) had his opnion and that he (Pordum) was right. Henry was NOT consulted on the Evans law.
This law WILL prevent renewable energy companies from opening up shop in Evans and creating new jobs.
Brant Supervisor Pero is looking at revenue from windmills to reduce reduce the tax burden on residents. While Pordum is supervisor, Evans will NOT get tax relief from windmills.
When you see Fran Pordum, ask him why he’s against reducing taxes by embracing wind energy.
The Brant Highway Department Building has a $200,000 solar system. It produces more electric than the building uses! In fact, it produces so much more electric than needed that Brant is considering moving half the panels to another building!
