TownOfEvans.com obtained the budgets of Evans ($10.50! – Not Online!), Brant, Eden, Hamburg and North Collins. Other town’s post their budgets on their town’s web sites.
NOTE: TownOfEvans.com did see a few towns with the position of Budget Office but NONE APPROACHED THE $10,500 SALARY FRAN PORDUM RECEIVES!
Pordum’s 2010 Tentative Budget proposes spending 41.03% of the budget on the Police Department!
As you can see in the table below, many other towns spend much less on police or minimize this cost by receiving police services from a higher level of government (Sheriff or NYS).
Fran Pordum owes the taxpayers of Evans an explanation as to why so much of the budget is consumed by the police department.

Becareful what you wish for before you criticize the hard work of the men and women of the Town of Evans police department..Do you stay up at night wondering if your spouse is going to come home at the end of their shift?
I Do !!! Will you be there to support my children god forbid the day my husband does not come home? I DID NOT THINK SO YOU WILL STILL COMPLAIN HE MADE TOO MUCH FOR GIVING HIS LIFE TO THIS COMMUNITY.

P.S. Not everyone in Evans pays their “fair Share” of taxes.
Yes the residents of Brant are safe, they have two part time Brant officers,Erie County Sheriff and NYS Police patrol Full Time.
You better read the article about the Town of Brant again, they employ 17 part time police officers, and are in the market for a Chief of Police. The Town of Evans is kept safe by the Town of Evans Police Dept.
The Brant Police Dept is 7% of budget – Evans is 41%
